| You know what's a pain?
People who lash out at you because things that don't go their way. I get annoyed sometimes at my job because people just don't think the job search goes the way they want it and then they insult you. It's from a lack of understanding of how the market works and what the expectations are of you.

| So when I went to Europe, I visited someone I knew from a few years ago. Prior to my job as a technical recruiter, before I rejected my technical roots, I actually coded for a small AI research company at Marina Del Rey. That's where I met Shane - this guy from New Zealand, out there to build a thinking machine. He used to regale with stories of his craaazzyyy travels from around the world.
Anyhow time past and now he's a phD student for some school near Lugano, Switzerland - this gorgeous area in a pseudo cul de sac of lakes - Lago Maggiore, Lago di Como and Lago di Lugano.
I would upload photos, but I need to think about upgrading my xanga account to allow for photo uploads......

| I have no idea why I want to post this picture, but it's one of the very few I have from my trip with me in it. This hotel had a bunch of these flower beds in the driveway to the restaurant at the top of the hill.

So here's a view from a restaurant in Genomino. Stefan and I found it out of the Lonely Planet guide. Strangely enough, for a travel guide it's pretty good. I was expecting some really touristy restaurants in the book, put there in the book because of some massive cash given to the authors but with sub-par food. Instead, we found some gems like this restaurant with breaktaking views of Lago Maggiore.
It was funny, this restaurant was at the top of some hill with arrow signs pointing to the restaurant. We drove up some curvy steep road promising us that this Italian restaurant was still open. We were skeptical - local Italians can be quite volatile as to what months they choose to be open. We already went to three restaurants prior to this one saying they were closed for the Month of August, the months with the most tourists visiting. Obviously, the restaurants didn't care about making extra cash.
Oh here's a picture of a cat in a box at the restaurant. This restaurant was inside a hotel where there were resident pet cats. I need to learn how address the foreign pets. I bet this cat only understood Italian.

And here are more pictures of the restaurant.

| So last weekend I tried Tibetan food in Solano.
It was... delicious and very home cooked. So, there was a Tibetan
buffet for 8 bucks and instead of filling the food with oil so it would
be more filling - the cook didn't want to take the easy way out, and
instead made really healthy food. It was wonderfully delicious
without any strange additives.
I also went to the gym that day AND, I went to O'Reilly's Beer and
Oyster Festival at Ft. Mason in SF. I found a new beer that I
liked (Smitterns) but I could live without the raw oysters. Then
at Fisherman's wharf, I had hot chocolate at Ghiradelli and had a drink
at a local bar to watch the UCLA vs LSU game.
It was quite a wonderful and adventurous day.
